![]() I totally understand Howard not hiring him back. But to ride him for years after you knew there was a major problem comes with the responsibility, imo, to be there when the shit inevitably hits the fan.įun fact: it was only about 13 months between Artie giving the quasi-best man speech at Howard's wedding, and Howard completely turning his back on Artie Had Howard made a clean break from Artie back in 2006, fine. Morally, you owe it to him to at least take his fucking call once in a while. Lastly, if you're going to ride a guy into the ground, literally until he stabs himself and fake tries to drink bleach, you're a complete scumbag if you completely turn your back on him. Instead, he roped Artie back in, saying he should stay, finish out the contract, and they could go out "in a blaze of radio glory" (which is almost as gay-cringe as "bro"). ![]() So Howard played dumb about Artie's addictions (and the extent of them) when it suited him, but when it came time to attack, what did Howard use?Īlso, in the aftermath of the bro fight, Artie was like "I'm a mess, I just need to go away and get better.".ĭid Howard say "Good job, bro! I'll support you in whatever you want to do.", like he said he would? Howard, during the bro fight: "go take another tab of that shit that keeps you off heroin!" ""if" I want to get clean? meaning "I don't have to get clean"? Fucking A!" And if Howard is half as smart and psychologically sophisticated as he claims to be, he would know that that statement would encourage Artie's drug use, not rehabilitation. It's evil because he knew Artie would never take him up on it. Now you might be saying "but joo, that seems like a bro move. One extremely devious, downright evil, thing Howard did was tell Artie "if you want to go and get clean, your job will be waiting for you when you get back". Howard, balls deep in therapy, would obviously know this, yet still continued with his enabling and exploitation. It wasn't up to Artie to make that determination. Instead, Howard laughed off incident after incident, pretended to turn a blind eye, made light of and bits out of Artie's addictions, and asked the junkie if he was ok to continue. ![]() Howard was obviously not responsible for Artie's drug addictions, but he enabled and exploited Artie's addictions for years for his own benefit.Īny decent, responsible employer would have fired him after the first major incident.
